Extended Universe media reveal that the B-wing was designed by Gial Ackbar in between Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi in canon, they were designed by Quarrie as part of Project Shantipole.They usually had to be escorted around enemy starfighters by X-wings or A-wings before they could reach their bombing destination. B-wings were mainly used for assaults on capital ships, such as Imperial-class Star Destroyers or Interdictor-class Star Destroyers.
This pickup is currently only available for the Battle Station and Fighter Squadron.
If picked up, two B-wing starfighters will spawn in and assist you until they are destroyed or until you die. It was added for everyone in the Death Star expansion pack for Season Pass holders. The B-wing is a Rebel Alliance starfighter featured in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront.
